We are the first independently organised and impartial body for national youth consultation in the United Kingdom dedicated to strengthening the meaningful engagement of children and young people across the United Nations systems.

In 2020, Member States, including the UK, committed to “listen to and work with youth” in the Declaration on the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. Since then, the establishment of the UN Youth Office and the Summit of the Future have provided substantive opportunities to strengthen the meaningful engagement of children and young people in decision-making processes at all levels.

As a founding Member of the UN, a champion of expanding civic space, and with an estimated 30% of the population under the age of 30, the UK must continue to lead on centring young people’s leadership and partnership at the local, national, and international levels.

Driven by young people who have been working with the UN system for several years, we are determined to focus on localisation, accountability, and increasing the engagement of children and young people across the three pillars of sustainable development, human rights, and peace and security.

These calls to value young people not only as beneficiaries of change but as partners are not new. We stand on the shoulders of those who have opened the doors, advocated for decades, and who have never given up.

Now, drawing on the energy of the Summit of the Future, we aim to unite our effort and convene those key actors who have championed meaningful youth engagement.

What we have built together is a home for us – and for you. So get comfortable, keep in touch, and stay engaged!

While several youth-led and youth-focused organisations support our efforts, we are not affiliated with any individual organisation, government, or UN body. We are a youth-led collective.

We remain impartial in our political values and are united behind the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We do not tolerate any forms of discrimination.

We are a youth-led space and value intergenerational leadership, collaboration, and partnership. Intergenerational work and dialogue allows for collective learning, unlearning, and growth.

Keep up to date with our efforts.

This safe space for children and young people is not possible without your support. Keep in touch, reach out, be curious, ask questions, read, learn, unlearn, be critical, give us feedback, hold us accountable, share your ideas, and stay engaged.
